Basically I will be starting a Book of shadows in the next few months, On the third cycle of moons I will be innitiated for a year and a day training. The HP suggested using loose paper but knowing my organizational skills I will lose pages. She sugested three Hole punch binder.. I was googling and I saw ones made of wood, they clamp on to the paper and can easily be opened and add more papers.. In your opinions do you think wood can A be used for a BOS ..............B will it last for when I pass it on..... C... is there anything Else that can be used that would not ruin the papers but easy to move at will?

Greetings Jen88,
I was reading your post and thought I would share my thoughts for you. A Book of Shadows made of wood is very nice and will last a long time, on the other hand, it is very vulnerable to cracking, splittering, and staining. A witch's Book of Shadows is your best friend and is used basically on a daily basis. (depending on how involved you practice that is) I find that the best to use is a leatherbound book, you can find them online for little money depending on the detail of your desire. The leather Book of Shadows will last for generations.
My Book of Shadows has survived foggy nights and mornings, rainstorms, and the accidental cat knocking over my candles. Leather is the way to go. Also, the paper you use is very important as well, I use a linen based parchment paper. It gives the book a classy look and no worries of easily torn pages or fading. I also use a fragrant Dragons Blood ink (I make myself).

If you have room in the very first pages of your book here is a book protection spell:

"Elements protect this book,
From wondering eyes and prying look,
And fill it with Thine ancient power
In this right and ready hour"

I hope you find this info helpful, good luck..
